We love the French designer brands which use cellulose acetate in their hair accessories and sunglasses which is why, seasons ago, we started designing and manufacturing using that same material so that our customers could have the quality of cellulose acetate but at an affordable price! Strong, glossy and flexible, our signature range was born and we haven’t looked back.
Each season we delight in designing and adding to our range based on what our customers and overseas trends dictate . Read on for what is NEW for Spring/summer 2020 !
1. Tan and Denim
In 2020 Light brown, tan, and beige tones continue to be a favorite on the runways. They pair beautifully with blue, beige, and crisp white jeans. Try a ’70s-inspired shirt-jacket to take on the trend and a tan claw clip and voila !
Denim is always in to create swoon- worthy looks most probably because it goes with everything ! The everyday staple had a huge presence on the runways 2020 —with every big designer from Givenchy to Gucci showcasing the much-loved fabric in a variety of refreshing ways, including cropped culottes, vintage washes, and '70s flares. (Yes, they’re back!) Team High-rise wide-leg jeans with a feminine blouse or crop , add a Denim Claw and you’ll absolutely look the part !
2. New Large Premium Claws with Cut Outs
Always a best seller, customers have asked repeatedly for a “ middle size” between our Oversized Chanel pink with Black Trim Claw and our minis. Spring 2020 sees the collection grow to pair our Large Claws with Cutouts to our oversized range in Chanel pink & Black, Navy & Black , Ivory & Black , Tan and Denim . All in an 8.5 cm traditional “ large “ claw and, as always, designed in Melbourne.
3. Acetate embellished Hair Claws & Clips
In a year when bobbypins have become Hair jewellery and pearls, crystals and flowers adorn headbands, Bobbypins, hats and barrettes, HairFlair has designed and manufactured a new range of embellished Hairclaws and clips .
As always with comfort in mind, everyone of our beautiful hair claws are designed in Melbourne with a slight curve and with the teeth flat against the head so the claw dosen't pull and cause headaches.
4. Acetate Peat Combs
The French roll can be tricky to master at first but persevere because it’s a chic easy look to achieve once mastered. If you have fine hair like me, you will need an oversized 23XL comb for this one ( see HairFlair “ Acetate Combs“) or if your hair is really thick, you will require our new French Pleat comb !
1 Make a ponytail with your hair at the nape of your neck and twist upwards putting it flat against your head .
2. Carefully roll the twist over the hair ends to be flatter against your head
3. Place the comb on the side where the hair is not tucked under facing the comb upside down and insert the comb into the first top layers of hair ( don’t try to use too much hair at this stage)
4. Flip the comb back under so it’s facing normally and push into the twist to secure the roll. Voila !
5. Acetate Detangle & Fine tooth Combs
Again because you’ve asked, HairFlair Aus is introducing acetate combs to their collection in Spring 2020. Not only are they better for the environment, they are significantly stronger and less brittle than plastic or acrylic versions . Are you sick of combs with broken teeth ?
An extra large 20.8 cm two teeth comb has also been designed and is on the way.
